FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS |
| What types of dogs need training? |
| All puppies and dogs need basic training. How
far you go with training is up to you. |
| When should I start obedience training my
puppy? |
|
Between the ages of 7-12 weeks is the most
important time in a puppy's life; they have use of all their
senses and are refining their physical coordination. It is a
crucial period to become socialized with people, other animals and
places.
Your puppy is capable of learning basic obedience
commands and accepting of mild discipline. After 8 weeks your
puppy should be introduced to the big wide world such as car rides
and short walks where leash training can begin. Your puppy is
learning at an accelerated pace during this period and his
environment and tone of the owners voice will play a big role in
how your puppy turns out.
