DogGone Right! Service Policies

Below are DogGone Right!'s standard operating policies. If you have any questions, please ask. We are happy to help.

Payment:

  • Payment and registration (including proof of Rabies vaccination) must be received in full prior to attending any classes.
  • Payment can be made in a number of ways: via the phone we accept Visa and Mastercard; via internet we accept E-transfer sent to info@doggoneright.ca; in person we accept Visa, Mastercard, Debit, Cheque and the ever popular Cash, the training school is open to accept payment in person Monday-Thursday 6:00-7:00PM and Saturdays 9:00AM-3:00PM; via snail mail we accept Cheques payable to DogGone Right! Inc.

Group Classes:

  • Proof of a current Rabies vaccination must be received prior to attending any classes (exceptions may be made with a valid Vet Letter). DogGone Right! Inc. reserves the right to call and confirm with the Vet of Record.
  • All dogs must be healthy and free from contagious diseases.
  • Female dogs in heat are not permitted to attend a group class.
  • Children under the age of 7 are not allowed to attend class.
  • Handlers between the ages of 7-15 are encouraged to attend classes but must be accompanied by an adult.
  • Handlers between the ages of 16-18 may attend class alone but must provide a letter of permission from a parent or guardian to do so.
  • Dogs attending Group classes must not display aggressive or problematic behaviour towards other dogs or people in class.
  • Problematic behaviour may include, but not limited to, extreme fear, excessive barking, lunging, snarling, snapping and/or growling at other dogs or people in class.
  • If the Instructor feels group classes are unsuitable for a dog, DogGone Right! Inc. reserves the right to remove the dog and handler from the session. Any payment made will be given as a credit towards private lessons for either obedience training or behavioural issues.

Missed Classes:

  • If your dog is ill, we recommend you attend class without your dog.
  • If a class is missed handouts will be emailed prior to the next class. Sorry no make-up classes.
  • Missing 2 consecutive classes is considered to have voluntarily left the course.
  • Alternatively, clients may make arrangements for a private lesson at the cost of $75+HST.

Statutory Holidays and Weekends:

  • We do not hold classes on statutory holidays and long weekends unless otherwise notified. Classes will resume the following week.

Cancellation Policy

  • We will make every effort to inform clients via voicemail or email if a particular class is cancelled.
  • If a training course is cancelled by DogGone Right! Inc. you will be provided with an option of:
    o we will make room for you in another class at the same level on another day;
    o priority reservation for the next course;
    o credit towards en equivalent course at a future dates;
    o a full refund.

Refunds/Credits:

  • Refunds for Obedience/Sport Courses will be made if requested in writing, by fax or email and will be refunded in accordance with the schedule below.
  • Credit can be obtained for the full amount of the refund to use towards another Obedience Course if the guidelines are met, and the Course date is within the same calendar year.
  • Refunds on credit card, debit or in the form of a personal cheque are subject to a $25 administrative fee deducted from the total allowable refund.
  • Refunds in the form of personal cheque may take up to 4-6 weeks for processing.
  • Refunds will be issued in the format they were originally paid.
  • Refunds in the form of cash may take up to 48 hours, as we do not hold large sums of money on the premises.
  • DogGone Right! Inc. reserves the right to grant exceptions to the stated policy in situations including, but not limited to, illness and death in the immediate family.
  • We do not give refunds or credits when someone chooses to leave the course part way through, whether due to illness or any other reason.
  • Missing 2 consecutive classes is considered to have voluntarily left the course and no refund or credit will be given.
  • Extreme Circumstances: By all means contact us, we are not heartless! We'll consider all situations individually.
  • Refund Schedule:
    o Notice in writing more than 2 weeks prior to start date of the course a full refund will be provided.
    o Notice in writing more than 1 week prior to start date of the course a partial refund will be provided.
    o Notice in writing less than 48 hours prior to start date a partial refund will be provided.
    o A no-show for 2 consecutive weeks will be considered a cancellation and will not be refunded.

Leashes and Collars:

  • It is recommended owners use a flat collar w/a 4'-6' flat leash (we do not allow the use of retractable leashes).
  • We recommend the use a buckle collar / martingale collar / or a harness (preferably no-pull harness) / head collars are optional.
  • We do not allow the use of choke chains, pinch (prong) collars or electronic collars in class.

Treatment of Dogs in Class:

  • We will not tolerate the use of physical force on dogs in class. DogGone Right! reserves the right to cancel the contract (with 2 days written notice).

Pet First Aid Certificate Course Cancellation Policy:

  1. Cancellations received in writing 3 weeks prior to the course start date will be provided with a full refund.
  2. Cancellations received in writing within 2 weeks of the course start date will receive a refund less a $50.00 administration fee.
  3. Cancellations made within 48 hours of course start date will not be refunded.
  4. A no-show will be considered a cancellation and will not be refunded.
  5. If the course is cancelled by DogGone Right! Inc. you will be provided with an option of
    a. a full refund
    OR
    b. priority reservation for the next course.
