CARO has two distinct areas of competition - the Original area, which includes Novice, Advanced, Excellent and two levels of Versatility, and Working. The latter is further split into two areas.
The only requirement for the original area is that the dog is over six months of age, For Working, the dog has either to have attained an Advanced Title or passed the Working Proficiency Test (WPT) which is the second area of the Working competition.
