This course "If You Train It, They Will Come" will focus on building a reliable recall in your dog, on the building blocks of recall as well as how to build distractions in your work with your dog. Owners will learn a variety of strategies to help them develop a reliable recall with their dog and learn how to trouble shoot problems with their current recall routine.
This course will outline whistle recall as well as touch upon chase recall strategies. Practice and repetition will be imperative in this work. Getting your dog to come when called is simple, but it's not easy.
We will cover the following:
• Name recognition
• Attention/Watch Me
• Turn and Targeting
• Adding Cues
• Adding Distractions
• Thinking Outside the Box on Rewards
• Heeling Games
Prerequisite:
You and your dog must have completed Basic Obedience prior to enrolment in this class.
What you need to know before class starts:
• You must provide proof of your dog's most recent vaccination (bring the original and we will make a copy fo you).
• Bring a pair of comfortable indoor rubber soled shoes (runners would
be best) as we will be moving around the training room and NO outdoor shoes are allowed inside the training area.
